People first. Deal with any danger, then stop further damage where it is safe to — water off, exposed areas covered.
The first 24 hours
Photos and video before anything is moved or cleaned up. Wide shots for context, close-ups for detail.
What happened, when, and who was on site — while it is fresh. Keep damaged materials; do not throw anything out yet.
Call or message us before committing to repairs or agreeing to anything with another party.
If someone else was involved — a neighbour, another trade, a passer-by — take their details, but do not admit fault or offer to pay for anything. Liability policies require the insurer to manage that conversation, and a well-meant apology on site can complicate the claim later.
How we manage it
You deal with us, not the insurer’s queue.
We prepare and lodge the claim, and confirm early what the policy responds to — including the excess.
Assessors, information requests, scope questions — we handle the back-and-forth so the project keeps moving.
We chase progress and keep you posted. If a decision does not look right, we challenge it.
